Tree protectionAlways remember to protect the trees when slacklining – you can cause a lot of damage to the tree bark and even to your gear. Proper tree protection is a habit of every true slackliner and is not difficult at all – you can use basic stuff like cardboard or carpet (see the picture). Cardboard is easier to get but I will recommend carpet if you have the possibility – it lasts longer and rain or snow will not destroy it.

Gibbon treewearAlso – Gibbon manufactures a special kind of tree protection called the "Treewear". It consists of two pieces large enough to protect the trees, they also come with a velcro for easier attachment. If you have some extra cash, go for it – it`s worth the price. You can BUY the Treewear here .

And be sure to use only healthy and thick (at least 12 inches in diameter) trees with a hard bark for slacklining.
